The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated engineering graduate who is actively pursuing their P.Eng. license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). This is a role for someone who wants to gain engineering experience in a hands-on environment and grow into a future leader in the field.
- You will report directly to the Principal Engineer and benefit from regular mentorship and shadowing.
- You will have access to training, with dedicated professional development time each year. • You will gain broad experience across municipal infrastructure projects, including independent field work, office duties, design, technical analysis, business development, and customer service.
- You will mentor and supervise our engineering co-op students, building supervision and leadership experience early in your career.
This position includes client-facing work, technical delivery, and quick turnaround times with high-quality expectations. We are looking for someone who enjoys construction, is energized by learning, and has strong communication and customer service skills. Salary Range: $30/hr to $40/hr plus performance bonus eligibility (40+ hour work week)
Key Responsibilities:
You will drive outcomes across the following areas:
- Complete topographic surveys and digital twin scanning (Training provided)
- Complete construction/asset management inspections for infrastructure projects (Training provided)
- Perform AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting, design, and modeling (Training provided)
- Develop asset management plans (Using ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar software) to support project work (Training provided)
- Deliver professional customer service and build positive client relationships through clear communication and reliable follow-through.
- Support/lead technical presentations and client interactions.
- Mentor and supervise co-op students and junior team members.
- Support software development and customer service activities, including product testing, collecting user feedback, and supporting product adoption.
- Support business development and continuous service improvement. This role involves regular field work, client interaction, and cross-functional exposure in a fast-moving environment.
Requirements:
- High self-motivation, growth mindset, and comfort operating with evolving priorities.
- Strong customer service skills with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent quality of work.
- Proven ability to learn new technical skills and software platforms quickly.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited program.
- Actively pursuing P.Eng. licensure with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). EIT eligibility is preferred and supported.
- Valid Ontario G driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for field work (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Comfortable working on active construction sites and performing the physical aspects of surveys and inspections (PPE and training provided).
- Willingness to travel regularly within Ontario, including occasional overnight stays depending on project needs (accommodations provided).
- Willingness to complete a criminal record check (required for some municipal client assignments).
- Legal right to work in Canada.
Work Environment & Expectations:
This is a hybrid role based out of our St.
Catharines office. Your week will mix field work, office collaboration, and home-based work, with field and client commitments taking priority when scheduling.
The work is physical at times. Expect active construction sites, uneven ground and dense vegetation, extended periods of driving, and the occasional sewer manhole lid that needs lifting.
This is a demanding role. You will be expected to take initiative, learn from critical feedback, manage competing priorities, maintain high standards under time pressure, and deliver excellent customer service.

- Overtime Policy: We believe in fairly compensating hard work. Although many engineering roles in Ontario are exempt from overtime under O. Reg. 285/01, we voluntarily pay overtime at 1.5× the regular rate after 44 hours per week. Peak construction seasons will involve extended hours, and we are committed to recognizing that effort.
- Time Off Policy: 80 hours annual vacation, 40 hours annual sick/flex time, and 40 hours annual professional development & community involvement time.
