Junior Internal Controls Analyst – 100% Remote

Duration: 4-Month Contract

Our client is looking for a Junior Internal Controls Analyst to join their team on a 4-month contract. This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional with 1–2 years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Controls, SOX/ICFR, or Audit who is looking to gain hands-on experience in controls testing and remediation.

The role will focus on supporting internal controls testing, walkthroughs, documentation, evidence review, issue identification, and remediation activities while working with business stakeholders and control owners.

Key Responsibilities:

- Execute internal controls testing using established procedures and test scripts.
- Participate in walkthroughs and review supporting documentation and evidence.
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Document testing procedures, results, exceptions, and conclusions.
- Identify control gaps and exceptions and support the documentation of findings.
- Assist with remediation activities and follow up with control owners on outstanding items.
- Maintain accurate testing workpapers, control documentation, and supporting evidence.
- Prepare testing results, remediation updates, and basic management reporting.
- Work closely with Finance, Risk, Compliance,



Internal Audit, and business teams.
- Support improvements to internal control processes and documentation.

Qualifications:

- 1–2 years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Controls, SOX/ICFR, Controls Assurance, Risk & Controls, or a related audit function.
- Good understanding of internal controls and controls testing .
- Experience reviewing audit evidence, performing walkthroughs, documenting testing, or identifying control exceptions.
- Exposure to remediation of control deficiencies is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with valuable analytical and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and work independently in a remote environment.
- Accounting, Finance, Business, or related educational background is an asset.
