About the Role The Explorer Hotel is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Yellowknife, NT. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily culinary operations across restaurant, lounge, banquet, and catering services
- Prepare and execute high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency and presentation standards




- Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs with menu execution and kitchen leadership
- Mentor and train junior kitchen team members to ensure operational excellence
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and kitchen quality standards
- Assist with inventory control, food preparation, and kitchen organization

Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of banquet production, restaurant service, and contemporary culinary techniques
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen setting is an asset
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- Red Seal certification or equivalent culinary training is considered an asset
