The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) provides support for the delivery of Imperial’s Occupational Health programs and services to various business units. Occupational Health Nurse administratively reports to the Occupational Health Manager.What You Will DoProvides services within the professional scope and standards of license specific to health care of employees and other workers, as determined by the company.Provides emergency treatment for injury and illness, both occupational and non-occupationalDetermines employees’ fitness-for-work through clinical and evidence-based assessments.Collects data about the health status of the employee through an occupational health history, physical assessment, and appropriate clinical screening (e.G., HbA1c)Assesses clinical tests and results, arranges follow up assessment, refers for further investigation, and communicates the results,



as required.Records health data and maintains accurate employee health records. Complies with data privacy requirements.Conducts occupational evaluations as required by company occupational health policies and regulations. This includes completion of safety sensitive/specified position exams.Participates in the administration of the health center, including but not limited to scheduling of occupational examinations, inventorying of medications, tracking and management of equipment and ordering suppliesSupports Disability Case Management of employees’ illnesses and injuries, if required, in conjunction with the third-party disability vendor and OHD Disability Case Management Advisors (DCMA)Coordinates and supports workers’ compensation claims reporting processProvides advice to employees on prevention of illness and injury, health and wellness, and community health servicesCollaborates and communicates with management on relevant occupational health issuesDevelops and delivers occupational health and wellness programsProvides Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) support for Occupational HealthAbout YouEducation, Training, & LicensureNursing Degree, Advanced Nursing Degree, Nurse Practitioner DegreeCurrent, or eligible for, unrestricted registration with provincial or territorial nursing licensing organization for primary work locationIn good standing with the provincial licensing organization of the primary work location, and others as required.At least 3-5 years of related work experience is preferredFamiliarity with electronic medical record usage is an assetCertification in occupational health (COHN(C)) is preferredAudiometry and spirometry certification is preferredBasic Life Support (BLS) is requiredInternational Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification is preferredCompletion of physical health assessment course may be required.Your BenefitsAn Imperial career is one designed to last.
