Become an integral part of BCIT's Prosthetics and Orthotics program as a temporary Assistant Instructor. This role focuses on delivering hands-on instruction and supervising students in prosthetic fabrication labs.
With a part-time commitment of about 49 hours over 14 weeks, you will need to be flexible with scheduling, as your shifts may vary. Your primary duties include assisting with lab setup, providing technical guidance, and maintaining an organized, protected lab environment for students. Collaborating with faculty members, you will help foster effective learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and set up fabrication laboratory activities
• Deliver ongoing technical instruction to students
• Supervise students during practical lab sessions
• Ensure safety standards in lab operations
• Assist with lab maintenance and cleanup
Requirements:
• Preferred OPC Registered Technician qualification
• Demonstrated skills in fabrication techniques
• Commitment to safety best practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to take a mentoring role in the lab
