About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kimchi Maker (Production Cook) to join our Central Kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full cycle of traditional and authentic kimchi production, upholding the highest standards of food safety, quality, and batch consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Operations:
- Oversee and perform all stages of kimchi production, including vegetable preparation, brining/salting, seasoning mixing, fermentation monitoring, and packaging.
- Follow established recipes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent taste, texture, and visual presentation across all batches.
- Monitor daily production volume and adjust workflows to meet production schedules and order demands.
- Hygiene &
- Sanitation:
- Strictly adhere to food safety, personal hygiene, and HACCP/Alberta Health Services guidelines.
- Maintain clean, sanitized, and organized workstations, equipment, and storage areas before, during, and after shifts.
- Perform routine sanitization of production machinery, food preparation surfaces, and utensils.
- Inventory &
- Quality Control:
- Inspect raw ingredients for freshness and quality upon receipt and prior to processing.
- Monitor stock levels of essential ingredients, packaging supplies, and report shortages to the management team.
- Properly label, date, and store finished products and raw materials according to temperature and food safety regulations.
Qualifications &
- Requirements
- Prior experience in a qualified kitchen, food production facility, or culinary environment.
- Strong commitment to food safety, sanitation protocols, and personal hygiene.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy ingredients/batches (up to 20–25 kg / 50 lbs).
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon hire) is an asset.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale food manufacturing, bulk food processing, or commercial central kitchen operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of Korean cuisine, traditional food processing, or fermentation techniques.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
