Torah Day School is an Orthodox Jewish JK–Grade 12 school located in Ottawa. We are a trilingual school that provides a strong General Studies program that meets or exceeds the Ontario curriculum, along with a rigorous Judaic Studies program.

At TDSO, we value a positive and supportive school environment where teachers, students, parents, and staff work together. Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare lesson plans and teach according to the Ontario Kindergarten Program
- Plan and provide engaging learning activities for students
- Assess and monitor student learning and development
- Work with students individually and in small groups
- Create a positive, safe, and supportive classroom setting
- Adapt lessons and activities to meet the different learning needs of students
- Work closely with the Kindergarten team, including Educational Assistants, Student Support Workers, and Judaic Studies teachers
- Supervise students during recess and lunch as needed




- Communicate with parents and administration about student progress and social development
- Participate in creating and implementing Student Success Plans and Personal Learning Plans
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Be comfortable transitioning to an online learning environment if the school needs to temporarily close

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor of Education with qualifications in the Primary/Elementary sector
- OCT certification is preferred
- Experience working with Kindergarten or elementary-aged children
- Good understanding of the Ontario Kindergarten Program and its four frames:
- Belonging and Contributing
- Self-Regulation and Well-Being
- Demonstrating Literacy and Mathematics Behaviours
- Problem Solving and Innovating
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
- References should be included on your CV
