THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Designer to join our ever growing custom millwork design team. You’ll work side-by-side with designers, cabinetry makers, and other project managers in an environment that fosters collaboration and creativity. We’re all problem solvers helping our clients transform their kitchens and custom millwork into functional yet beautiful living spaces. You will have the ability to steer your career with unlimited, performance-based growth.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

· Meet with clients to determine design requirements, present design concepts, and manage design change orders

· Use design software to develop creative and functional design plans and layouts, elevations, renders and detailed drawings that respect your Clients’ budget and schedule and are up to building code standards

· Read and interpret blueprint, schematics, and technical drawings etc.

· Advise and assist with selection of colours, finishes and materials such as cabinets, tiles, counters, fixtures, lighting, flooring, and other items

· Effectively multi-task, following the Cutwell's design process, and managing your time to work within the client’s budget and allocated design time





· Liaise with other Cutwell's departments and team members to ensure quality and continuity at all stages of the project

· Generating quotes and/or estimates for new prospective clients and/or builders

· Maintain relationships with clients to ensure an outstanding customer experience that is second to none

· Administration work as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

· Minimum of 1 year in a design role

· Kitchen or bath design experience would be considered an asset

· Familiarity with local building codes and their implications for design would be a real bonus

· Excellent communication skills and an ability to get your great ideas across quickly and clearly

· Proficiency with Microsoft suite

· A drive for organization

· Knowledge of Mozaik Design Software is considered an asset

· Knowledge of cabinetry finish materials are considered an asset (i.e. Melamine, Thermofoil, Painted)

· Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or related field is preferred but maybe you have a fantastic portfolio that proves you know your stuff regardless

· Someone who revels in a fast paced, dynamic environment and has a thirst to always be learning

· A team player who’s always asking, “what can I do to help?”
