FMC, Alberta's largest hospital and one of Canada's leading trauma, research, and teaching hospitals, is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant I to join our Pre-Analytical team. This role supports high-quality diagnostic laboratory services across FMC and the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. Working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, you will gain experience in inpatient and outpatient collections, specimen processing, quality management, troubleshooting, and laboratory support. Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications: Recent and relevant experience and competency in phlebotomy techniques within the last year. Recent and relevant experience in RRL setting or an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity within the last year.

Experience with neonatal skin puncture within the last year.

Experience with EPIC. Proficiency in data entry.

Experience in outpatient lab one patient flow process. Demonstrates excellent reliability, accuracy, productivity and quality of work in adherence to policies, procedures and performance standards. Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs. Courses or certificates in personal leadership development, conflict resolution or change management. Ability to walk extensively.
