We are seeking motivated and experienced Waterproofing / Roofing Labourers to join our growing team. The successful candidates will be dependable, safety-conscious, hardworking, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.

This position involves performing waterproofing and roofing work on commercial, industrial, institutional, and restoration projects, including the installation of torch-applied and weldable membranes, foundation waterproofing, roof repairs, membrane detailing, and surface preparation. Candidates should demonstrate strong workmanship, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to completing work safely and to a high standard.

Compensation is paid at the standard Union rate.

Responsibilities

- Perform waterproofing and roofing work in accordance with project requirements, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices
- Install torch-applied and weldable waterproofing and roofing membranes
- Perform foundation waterproofing, including surface preparation, membrane installation, detailing, and protection as required
- Carry out roof repairs, maintenance, and replacement work
- Complete membrane detailing around penetrations, drains, curbs, parapets, transitions, terminations, and other critical areas




- Use Leister heat guns and hot-air welding equipment for membrane welding, seaming, repairs, and detailed waterproofing applications
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, scraping, chipping, priming, drying, or removing existing materials as required
- Install waterproofing membranes, coatings, sealants, mastics, flashing, insulation, and related roofing/waterproofing materials
- Perform demolition and removal of existing roofing and waterproofing systems where required
- Measure, cut, position, weld, torch, and install materials accurately
- Operate roofing and waterproofing tools, hand tools, power tools, torches, hot-air welders, and related equipment safely
- Maintain consistent quality workmanship and ensure completed work meets project and contract requirements
- Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Set up and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Inspect completed work and identify deficiencies or areas requiring repair
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, equipment issues, or site concerns to the supervisor
- Work safely around ladders, scaffolding, roof edges, elevated work areas, and construction equipment
- Use all required personal protective equipment
- Follow site-specific safety procedures and supervisor instructions
- Follow Duron Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Follow COR Guidelines and industry best practices for maintaining a safe workplace
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company property in good working condition
- Perform other construction and labour duties as required

Requirements





- Previous experience in waterproofing, roofing, restoration, or related construction work is preferred
- Experience installing torch-applied and/or weldable membrane systems
- Experience using Leister heat guns or similar hot-air welding equipment is an asset
- Familiarity with foundation waterproofing, roof repairs, membrane detailing, and surface preparation
- Knowledge of proper roofing and waterproofing installation techniques
- Ability to safely operate roofing tools and equipment
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials and equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights and around ladders and scaffolding
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to follow instructions, drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements where applicable
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Class G driver's licence and clean driving record is an asset

Additional Assets

- Previous commercial or industrial roofing experience
- Experience with torch-on roofing systems
- Experience with hot-air welded membrane systems
- Experience with foundation waterproofing systems
- Experience with membrane repairs and detailed waterproofing work
- Working at Heights certification
- WHMIS certification
- Elevated work platform or other relevant construction safety training
