Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Labourer / Skid Steer Operator to join our gravel crushing operation. This is a full-time contractor position working at a rural crushing site north of Cochrane, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a skid steer around active crushing equipment, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and assisting the crew with plant maintenance and operational support.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, has strong mechanical aptitude, and can work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a skid steer in and around an active gravel crushing operation.
- Clean up material accumulations beneath conveyors and around crushing equipment.
- Maintain level, clean, and organized work areas throughout the site.
- Support crushing plant operations by assisting with screen changes and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with breakdowns, repairs, and general troubleshooting as required.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
- Follow all site safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Work effectively with plant operators, mechanics, and other crew members.




- Complete general labour duties as required to support production and site operations.
- Maintain positive housekeeping standards across the worksite.

Qualifications

Required

- Experience operating skid steers or similar heavy equipment.
- Reliable transportation and ability to consistently arrive on time at a rural worksite.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physically capable of performing labour-intensive tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred

- Previous experience in gravel crushing, aggregate production, or construction.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience assisting with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Experience working around conveyors, crushers, and screening plants.
- Valid driver’s license.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
