Ghent Landscape is looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Foreman to join our Commercial Construction team!
The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for leading landscape construction crews and overseeing day-to-day site operations on commercial projects. This hands-on leadership role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards while coordinating effectively with Construction Managers, internal teams and stakeholders, and other trades.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise landscape construction crews on commercial job sites.
- Interpret and execute work based on construction drawings, grades, elevations, specifications, and project details.
- Coordinate daily site activities including crew direction, material requirements, equipment needs, work sequencing, and workflow planning.
- Coordinate site activities alongside general contractors, site superintendents, inspectors, suppliers, and other trades as required.
- Communicate daily progress updates, site challenges, schedule impacts, and upcoming project needs with Site Superintendents and Project Managers.
- Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and to company quality standards.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites while enforcing company safety policies and OHSA requirements.
- Operate and oversee the use of landscape construction equipment including skid steers, mini-excavators, compactors, loaders, and power tools.
- Identify and troubleshoot site conditions, grading concerns, access limitations, and construction conflicts to maintain productivity and project momentum.
- Coordinate deliveries, material placement, equipment movement, and site access to support efficient project execution.
- Mentor and train crew members on construction techniques, equipment operation, safety expectations,
and quality workmanship.
- Complete required health and safety documentation including JSAs, site inspections, and incident reports.
- Accurately submit digital crew timesheets to support payroll processing and job costing.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with general contractors, inspectors, suppliers, other trades, and the public.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned to support team and project success.
What We're Looking For
- Proven ability to lead a construction crew and maintain strong productivity on active commercial job sites.
- Confidence interpreting construction drawings, grades, elevations, specifications, and technical details to guide daily work activities.
- Ability to plan ahead for materials, equipment, labour, deliveries, and work sequencing to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Strong understanding of commercial job site expectations, including coordination with general contractors and other trades.
- Strong focus on job site safety, organization, productivity, and quality workmanship.
- Effective communication with Site Superintendents, Project Managers, crew members, inspectors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing site conditions, schedules, and priorities while maintaining project momentum.
- Commitment to mentoring junior team members and contributing to a positive, team-focused work environment.

- $34–$48 per hour, depending on experience
