About the Role

We are a busy Brampton law firm, operating alongside a group of related companies, looking for an experienced Law Clerk to support our civil litigation practice while also serving as the first point of contact for our office.

Litigation experience is mandatory. We are looking for someone with at least 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience as a law clerk or legal assistant in a litigation practice who can manage files, prepare court documents, and keep matters moving with minimal supervision. Candidates without litigation experience will not be considered.

What You'll DoLitigation Law Clerk Support

- Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motion materials, affidavits, and correspondence
- Prepare, serve, and file court documents, including electronic filing through the applicable online portals
- Open, organize, and maintain litigation files (physical and digital) and keep records up to date
- Track and diarize limitation periods, court deadlines, and undertakings
- Schedule examinations, mediations, hearings, and other litigation events
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and process servers
- Assist with matters before the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, and the Landlord and Tenant Board
- Provide general administrative support to the lawyers as needed

Reception and Front Office
- Greet clients, visitors, and guests professionally and warmly
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, couriers, and deliveries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office and boardrooms
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, meeting rooms, and client visits

What We're Looking For
- 3 to 4 years (minimum)



of litigation experience as a law clerk or legal assistant. This is a mandatory requirement.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation workflow, from pleadings through to trial or resolution
- Experience with court filing procedures, including electronic filing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple files
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with legal practice management or billing software an asset
- Discreet, trustworthy, and professional, as you will be handling confidential client information
- A proactive, "no task too small" attitude and strong attention to detail
- A law clerk diploma or certificate, or ILCO membership, is an asset but not required where experience is demonstrated

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
