Job Title: Lead Instructional Designer
Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Instructional Designer with extensive experience designing enterprise learning solutions for digital, virtual, and instructor-led environments. This role will lead the end-to-end development of learning programs, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive instructional design best practices to deliver engaging, high-impact learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning solutions.
- Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and develop effective learning strategies.
- Create instructional materials including curricula, storyboards, facilitator guides, learner guides, assessments, job aids, and multimedia content.
- Provide guidance on instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning technologies.
- Manage multiple learning initiatives, project timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee content publishing, maintenance, and reporting within Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Evaluate learning effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Mentor junior instructional designers and contribute to learning governance, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, diploma,
or equivalent professional experience in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Education, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise learning solutions, including instructor-led, virtual, and web-based training.
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing instructional design projects and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Advanced experience with Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional instructional writing, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality learning solutions in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or other eLearning authoring and multimedia development tools.
- Audio and video production/editing experience.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), xAPI/SCORM, and learning analytics.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted content development and modern digital learning technologies.
- Basic scripting, programming, or multimedia development experience is considered an asset.
