The salary range for this position is $150,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role.

We are seeking a lawyer to be part of our Legal group. Working from the corporate headquarters in Mississauga under our Hybrid Work Policy and reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for Canadian privacy matters, as well as for providing general legal support on various commercial contracts!

Now, if you were to come on board as our Legal Counsel, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

- Review, draft and negotiate various corporate/commercial agreements such as client service contracts, joint venture agreements, subcontracts, franchise agreements and licensing agreements,



and support responses to RFPs
- Handle a range of commercial issues relating to the sale, distribution and marketing of company products and services in the various industry sectors within Compass, including issues relating to intellectual property and information technology
- Provide advice to executive and senior management teams on contract risks and contract interpretation
- Implement and enforce internal fiscal and corporate management policies
- Draft and negotiate privacy policies, procedures and agreements. Respond to access to information/freedom of information requests
- Review requests for proposals and provide comments to sales and operations teams. Review and comment on sales, marketing and communication materials
- Manage external counsel on outsourced files including acquisitions and divestiures

- Three to five years of privacy law experience in a law firm or as in-house legal counsel
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada
