Position Overview

As a Journeyperson Electrician (309A) at PL Energy Services, you will work on a variety of electrical construction, service, retrofit, and energy-efficiency projects throughout Ontario.

You will be expected to complete high-quality electrical work, troubleshoot problems, read drawings and schematics, work safely, and communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, subcontractors, and project teams.

The right candidate does not need to know everything. We are looking for someone with a strong electrical foundation who is curious, dependable, positive, and willing to continue learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems
- Complete electrical work for construction, retrofit, service, and energy-efficiency projects
- Install electrical panels, feeders, transformers, disconnects, lighting, controls, and related equipment
- Support EV charger installations, Building Automation Systems, VFDs, HVAC equipment, solar systems, and other electrical projects




- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and control-related problems using proper diagnostic methods
- Complete electrical installations in accordance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable regulations
- Perform inspections, testing, and verification of completed electrical work
- Coordinate with project managers, field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and customers
- Complete accurate service reports and project documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Support and mentor apprentices and junior team members when required
- Travel to different project sites using a company-provided vehicle

Qualifications
- Valid Ontario 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Licence – Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed electrician preferred
- Commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with electrical distribution, controls, lighting, panels, and related systems




- Experience with EV chargers, HVAC electrical systems, BAS, VFDs, solar, or energy retrofit projects is considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools properly
- Excellent understanding of safe work procedures and PPE requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record

Schedule
- Full-time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Overtime opportunities available
- Travel to project sites throughout Ontario as required

Mandatory Requirements
- Ontario 309A Electrician Licence
- Valid Ontario driver's licence
- Commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
- Strong safety awareness
- Positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
