Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety before dispensing medications.
- Collaborate with medical staff to provide expert advice on medication therapy, dosages, and potential interactions.
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication usage, potential side effects, and safety precautions.
- Maintain meticulous records of medication administration, inventory management, and patient interactions.
- Monitor for adverse drug reactions or medication errors and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Stay current with medical terminology updates, new pharmaceuticals, and best practices in acute care settings.
Requirements
- Valid license as a Pharmacist with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and patient care procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex medication regimens accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients.
