Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Linux Desktop Engineer to design, build, automate, secure, and manage enterprise Ubuntu workstation environments. This is an engineering-focused role supporting developers, Engineering/R&D; teams, AI workloads, and GPU-based systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage enterprise Ubuntu desktop/workstation environments.
- Own Linux workstation lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, patching, security, and upgrades.
- Administer HCL BigFix, including packaging, software deployment, and Linux patch management.
- Automate Linux provisioning and administration using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
- Deploy and support endpoint security tools including Zscaler, CrowdStrike, and ThreatLocker.
- Support developer and engineering environments using Docker, containers, and virtualization.
- Support AI/ML and GPU-enabled Linux workstations.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across Linux OS, kernel, drivers, firmware, networking, security, and hardware.
- Implement Linux security hardening and enterprise workstation standards.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on Linux engineering experience.
- Robust Ubuntu Desktop engineering experience in production environments.
- Linux workstation/platform ownership experience.
- Hands-on HCL BigFix administration and packaging.
- Strong Bash/Python scripting and Ansible automation.
- Experience with Zscaler, CrowdStrike, and/or ThreatLocker.
- Strong knowledge of Docker, containers, and virtualization.
- Linux patch management, automated deployment, and security hardening.
- Experience supporting developers, Engineering/R&D; teams, or technical workstation environments.
- Strong Linux troubleshooting skills across OS, drivers, networking, containers, and GPU environments.
Ideal Profile: A hands-on Linux engineer who has built, automated, and owned enterprise Ubuntu workstation platforms, rather than someone primarily focused on desktop support or Linux helpdesk operations. #IndKyn
