ATAC LAW is seeking a capable and ambitious Korean-speaking litigation associate who wants to develop a strong practice and become a recognized lawyer serving Korean-speaking clients in British Columbia.

Our lawyers act in challenging disputes, frequently against experienced counsel from large regional and national firms. Our Litigation Practice

Our work includes

- Commercial and civil litigation
- Construction and real estate disputes
- Shareholder, partnership, and contractual disputes
- Commercial dispute resolution
- Administrative tribunal proceedings, including Residential Tenancy Branch matters
- Family Law, Criminal Law and other Personal Legal Services
- Other complex disputes involving individuals and privately held businesses

The Role The successful candidate will manage litigation files from initial consultation through resolution, including applications, mediations, settlement negotiations, trials, and enforcement proceedings, depending on experience. The lawyer will also work with the firm’s partners and associates on larger and more complex litigation matters.

This is not a narrow supporting role. We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of files, who has sound judgment, and is motivated to grow a successful litigation practice.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have:





- Between 1 and 10 years of call
- At least one year of litigation experience in British Columbia
- Fluency in Korean and English, sufficient to advise and represent Korean-speaking and English-speaking clients equally
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
- Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and analytical skills
- Careful attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines
- Sound professional judgment and a high degree of personal responsibility
- A practical, client-focused approach
- The ability to work effectively with lawyers, staff, clients, and opposing counsel
- The motivation to develop their own practice and professional profile

Experience with solicitor work is an asset because many of our clients require both litigation and transactional advice. An existing book of business is also an asset, but it is not required, particularly for junior applicants.
