Dynamic Millwrights Inc. is looking for a Machinist Apprentice

Dynamic Millwrights is a full-service company located in Listowel, Ontario, with extensive expertise in agricultural, commercial, food and industrial millwrighting and fabrication. We are looking for an eager Machinist Apprentice looking to apply their theorical knowledge in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments
- Verify tooling requirements
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, or milling machines
- Will learn how to make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path
- Assist with ensuring the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality products
- Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to determine machining operation to be performed/ sequence of operation
- Capable of operating lathes and manual milling machines for secondary operations
- Layout, measure and mark metal stock in order to display placement of cuts
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues
- Some maintenance and repair of all machines and equipment
- Assist periodically with special projects as required
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Working towards a Machinist designation achieved through Apprenticeship
- Familiarity with CNC programming
- Some Welding/ Laser experience considered an asset or willing to learn




- Strong mathematical applications
- Robust attention to detail
- Experience reading blueprints, drawings and diagrams
- Ability to work independently
- Relevant fabrication and mechanical experience considered an asset
- Ability to deal with changing priorities in a quick and efficient manner
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

Working Conditions:
- Some overtime may be required.
- This position requires standing for long periods of time
- Manual dexterity required
- Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
- Occasional lifting up to 50lbs.
