Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the hotel’s maintenance and engineering operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s physical assets, ensuring a protected and comfortable environment for guests and associates, and developing effective preventive maintenance programs.

The Maintenance Manager will work in both an office and hands-on hotel environment. Responsibilities will include coordinating schedules and maintenance activities, responding to repair requests, and resolving mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise, and support the maintenance team in the daily operation and upkeep of the hotel.
- Oversee general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, locksmithing, kitchen equipment, and other hotel systems.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, and other departments to respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance needs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems.
- Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance and repair work to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, equipment, and exterior areas.
- Train, coach, and supervise maintenance staff, assign daily responsibilities, and monitor performance.




- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment histories, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Perform hands-on repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting when required.
- Oversee guest room repairs, grounds maintenance, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and hotel equipment.
- Maintain swimming pool equipment and ensure proper water testing and chemical levels in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor and manage the hotel’s energy consumption, utilities, mechanical equipment, and building systems.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers and oversee external maintenance and repair projects.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training maintenance team members as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, fire regulations, health and safety requirements, and Marriott brand standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure that all maintenance employees follow proper safety procedures.
- Respond to maintenance emergencies and remain available on an on-call basis when required.
- Support hotel inspections, audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, appearance, functionality, and overall condition throughout the property.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience in hotel maintenance, building operations, engineering,



facilities management, or a related field.
- Previous hotel maintenance or hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- An engineering degree, diploma, trade certification, or related technical education is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, fire regulations, health and safety requirements, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance or work-order systems.
- Ability to lead by example and establish high performance standards for the maintenance team.
- Strong safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.
- A valid driver’s licence is preferred.
- Must be available to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside regular working hours when required.
