Location: Various CMI locations based on operational requirements (North York and Vaughan)
Pay Rate: From $65,000 and up based upon experience and qualifications The salary range shown above reflects the expected compensation for this position. The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements.

Job Summary
CMI is looking for a Fixed Assets Maintenance Planner to join our Maintenance Team. As a Fixed Assets Maintenance Planner, you will coordinate the inspection, repair, and replacement of equipment across our recycling sites. To accomplish this, you will work closely with site managers, procurement and inventory teams, and local contractors to plan, monitor, and close out service requests.
Responsibilities
- Review incoming service requests to define the scope of work.
- Work with site managers and contractors to conduct field walks to identify and document job requirements, equipment and parts requirements, and responsible parties.
- Identify site-specific safety hazards and implement controls to minimize the risk to personnel and equipment.
- Establish and maintain a schedule for the work: forecast hours on work order tasks, total work-hour duration, and skills required to perform the task.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders to minimize disruption to recycling operations.
- Rent or procure equipment and specialized tools required to perform work.
- Review and share the necessary engineering and OEM technical manuals, specifications, and drawings with required parties.
- Coordinate with the management team and operations personnel to prioritize work with an emphasis on operations and reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement by working with management and the fixed assets team/Process team to improve processes, reduce costs, and build a robust maintenance program.
- Initiate, track, and close out Purchase Requisitions to ensure prompt payment after the scope of work is complete.
- Recommend new innovations and systems to management to improve plant productivity by reducing equipment failures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience Maintenance Planning.
- Industrial Mechanic College Diploma and/or Certificate of Qualification.
- Experience with CMMS , Microsoft Excel, and technical drawings.
