Job Summary

We are hiring a Maintenance & Renovation Assistant to support both the maintenance and renovation teams in maintaining apartment buildings, completing unit turnovers, and performing renovation projects. This role assists the teams by preparing work sites, handling and delivering materials, completing basic repairs, and ensuring apartments are ready for new residents.

Duties

Property Maintenance Support

- Assist with routine maintenance and repair tasks throughout apartment properties.

- Help complete resident work orders under the direction of maintenance staff.

- Move furniture, appliances, tools, and materials as required.

- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, mechanical rooms, and work sites.

- Assist with grounds maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal.

Apartment Turnovers & Renovations

- Assist in preparing vacant units for renovation and occupancy.

- Remove old flooring, cabinets, fixtures, appliances, and other materials during demolition.

- Clean and prepare units before, during, and after renovation projects.

- Assist with painting, drywall repairs, flooring installation, and unit finishing work.

- Deliver and organize renovation materials and supplies.

- Assist in installing fixtures, hardware, blinds, shelving, and appliances.

- Perform final cleaning and touch-up work to ensure units meet company standards.

General Duties

- Load, unload, and transport tools,



equipment, and materials.

- Assist with delivery and removal of appliances to and from apartment units.

- Maintain organized storage areas and inventory of supplies.

- Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.

- Keep tools and equipment clean and in good working order.

- Assist with emergency maintenance and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Previous experience in construction, renovations, maintenance, or general labour is an asset but not required.

- Willingness to learn apartment maintenance and renovation skills.

- Ability to safely use hand tools and basic power tools.

- Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) or more.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical labour throughout the day.

- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
