Your Mission:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Technician (Electrician) to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing electrical plant equipment to support safe, productive, and reliable operations.
Here’s what an ordinary day of work might look like:
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical breakdowns, including emergency repairs, while implementing safe temporary solutions that comply with applicable codes and regulations
- Troubleshooting electrical systems, control circuits, PLC-related wiring, motors, MCCs, VFDs, and power distribution equipment
- Completing preventative and predictive maintenance inspections on plant equipment and building infrastructure
- Performing instrumentation continuity and loop checks, verifying 4-20 mA signals, and calibrating instrumentation using process calibrators
- Troubleshooting and calibrating sensors, transmitters, control valves, and other process control systems
- Executing preventative and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring adherence to established maintenance procedures and protocols
- Creating work requests for issues identified during inspections and preventative maintenance activities
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, repairs, inspections, and work orders using the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Assisting with inventory management activities, including ordering parts, tools, and equipment as required
- Supporting plant upgrades, installations, and capital projects, including electrical lockouts, isolations, and facility connections
- Ensuring compliance with electrical codes, regulatory requirements, and internal safety procedures during all maintenance activities
- Providing technical support and guidance to contractors and internal teams as required
- Collaborating with site leadership and operations teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities
- Participating as an active member of the Health and Safety Committee
- Maintaining and auditing site materials inventories while proactively identifying critical stock shortages
- Supporting plant operations through additional technical and administrative tasks as needed
- Participating in the after-hours on-call rotation and supporting planned maintenance shutdowns when required
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to company values while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment

- Hold an Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician Trade Certification
- Bring a minimum of two years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Have hands-on experience working with PLCs, HMIs, Siemens systems, AC motors, and industrial control systems
- Possess experience troubleshooting and maintaining Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Have knowledge of NFPA requirements and preventative/predictive maintenance practices for MCCs and electrical panels
- Have experience working with standby generators and automatic transfer switch systems during power outages
- Understand current national electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Are proficient with Microsoft Office applications and have experience using CMMS software (considered an asset)
- Have experience with SCADA systems, industrial equipment, or mobile equipment, which would be considered an asset
- Can confidently read and interpret P&IDs;, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within electrical and control systems
- Possess a strong safety mindset, including experience with lockout/tagout procedures, work at heights, hazardous environments, and mobile equipment operation
- Have exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining equipment reliability and performance
- Are self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate effectively and collaborate well with maintenance, operations, and leadership teams
- Are open to feedback, continuous learning, and professional development
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Are physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, wearing a respirator, and safely climbing fixed ladders and spiral staircases
- Are available to work outside scheduled hours when required,
including participation in an after-hours on-call rotation

About the salary range: A reasonable estimate of the pay rate is 40.70/hour CAD at the time of this posting.
