Who You Are:
GFX Solutions is currently searching for a Maintenance Technician to support our operations team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment and facility systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting production operations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that maximize uptime and productivity. You will work closely with production employees, spray booth operators, maintenance leadership, and project teams to maintain equipment performance while supporting a safe and compliant workplace.
You are a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You Can Expect from the Role:
The responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician are as follows:
- Perform preventative maintenance activities on production equipment, tooling, facility systems, and related machinery to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Maintain equipment and systems to maximize production efficiency while ensuring customer quality and delivery requirements are achieved.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks accurately, safely, and according to established schedules and maintenance procedures.
- Assist with the setup, assembly, maintenance, and optimization of robotic spray guns and spray booth equipment.
- Work closely with Spray Booth Operators to identify equipment concerns, troubleshoot performance issues, and reduce unnecessary equipment changeovers.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvements that enhance reliability, efficiency,
and operational effectiveness.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives that streamline operations and reduce equipment downtime.
- Support continuous improvement activities focused on maintenance effectiveness, equipment performance, and manufacturing productivity.
- Assist project teams with facility planning, plant modifications, equipment installations, and future expansion initiatives as required.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of facility infrastructure and production equipment during new projects and operational changes.
- Partner with the Health and Safety team to ensure equipment, tools, and work processes meet all regulatory and company safety requirements.
- Assist with employee training related to the secure operation, inspection, and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, company policies, environmental regulations, and safe operating procedures.
- Support environmental management initiatives, including hazardous waste handling, air emissions compliance, and environmental management system requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, records, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Participate in emergency repairs and maintenance activities as required to support production operations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within maintenance work areas and ensure tools and equipment are organized and properly maintained.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications and Skills Do You Possess? Must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in Robotics, Industrial Maintenance, Automotive Manufacturing Maintenance, Automotive Paint Processes, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, automotive, production, or industrial environment.
- Experience with building maintenance, facility maintenance, automated systems, robotics, and manufacturing equipment is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing reliability.
- Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and safe work practices within a manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to complying with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management and air emissions requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with computerized preventative maintenance systems considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive compensation package for this role, including:
- Compensation: $25.50-$30.00/hour

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and working in various positions throughout the shift.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working in production environments.
- Ability to meet respiratory protection requirements where applicable.
Working Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to production machinery, automated equipment, robotics, chemicals, and varying environmental conditions.
- Regular interaction with production employees, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and plant leadership.
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial processes requiring strict adherence to safety standards.
