Job Purpose

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for coordinating the daily testing, maintenance, and upkeep of the E-Coat Line. The Maintenance Technician will ensure that adequate resources and materials are available for the operation of the line, and work in conjunction with the Supervisor to plan daily activities. They may also perform routine maintenance tasks and emergency maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal production efficiency. This role requires diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all maintenance work complies with safety and regulatory standards.

Duties

- Determine and manage material resources required to complete a project.
- Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide emergency maintenance services as needed and ensure timely response to breakdowns.
- Use specialized tools and instruments for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
- Keep and maintain documentation.
- Assist in the implementation of standard operating procedures for production operations.
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to and required daily data is recorded in daily logbook.
- Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished quality product.




- Follows all Select Finishing health and safety policies and procedures and manufacturer instructions, including using appropriate PPE for tasks assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas.
- Report issues and potential problems to supervisors.
- Participate in training programs to gain knowledge in various maintenance tasks.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or general labour role (internal promotion or equivalent external experience).
- Advanced knowledge of finishing processes, including paint applications, inspections, and quality standards.
- Ability to perform advanced quality checks and ensure compliance with production specifications.
- Skilled in handling complex rework tasks with precision and efficiency.
- Strong documentation skills.

Working Conditions

- Industrial environment with exposure to paint, solvents, and machinery noise.
- PPE compliance required.
