Position Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, Member Relations strengthens Food Banks Alberta’s province-wide member network by providing responsive member support, coordinating communication and resource sharing, supporting Food Banks Canada Standards of Excellence accreditation, assisting with emergency response coordination, and helping plan member engagement opportunities including the annual conference and regional meetings.

Key Responsibilities
Member Supports and Services
· Serve as the primary contact for member inquiries, supports, new membership applications, and annual renewals.
· Respond to member needs and help identify practical solutions to questions, issues, and concerns.
· Support members in understanding and navigating Food Banks Canada’s Standards of Excellence accreditation.
· Coordinate timely information, resources, templates, training, and best-practice sharing between FBA and members.
· Plan and support member engagement, networking, regional meetings, and the annual member conference.
Community Development
· Develop and improve programs, services, tools, and approaches that respond to member and community needs.
· Promote collaboration, inclusion, and shared learning across Alberta’s food banking network.
· Work with the Executive Director and community, provincial, and national partners to support efforts to reduce food insecurity.
Emergency Event Coordination
· Act as a liaison between members, food donors, Food Banks Canada, NGO Council, and other stakeholders during emergency situations.
· Lead the FBA Emergency Advisory Committee and support coordination of storage, distribution, transportation, reporting, communications, and statistics.
· Help identify and secure emergency resources to support member food banks as needs arise.
Member Compliance
· Maintain awareness of relevant provincial, federal, and national requirements, standards, and trends affecting food banks.
· Assist members in meeting stakeholder requirements and maintain shareable policies, procedures, and best-practice resources.
Special Projects
· Participate in FBA projects and events as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Post-secondary education in nonprofit management, community development, social work, human services, public administration, communications, business administration, emergency management, or a related field, plus a minimum of five years of related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
· RCMP security clearance required.
· Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel across Alberta for meetings and member engagement.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Pay: $34.00-$38.00 per hour
