Our client, an established and growing commercial bakery organization, is seeking an experienced

R&D; Director

to lead its product innovation and R&D; strategy.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a bakery R&D; professional who can take products

from concept and formulation through pilot testing and full-scale commercialization .

Key Responsibilities

Lead the company's bakery R&D; and innovation strategy

Oversee development of breads, pastries, doughs, batters and related products

Lead formulation, reformulation, shelf-life and cost-optimization initiatives

Guide products from bench-top development through commercial production

Lead and develop a team of Food Scientists, R&D; Chefs and Bakery Technologists

Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, QA and Supply Chain

Ensure products are scalable, manufacturable, commercially viable and compliant

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Food Science,



Food Engineering or related field

10+ years

of commercial food product development experience

5+ years in a high-volume, automated industrial bakery

Strong knowledge of industrial baking, dough rheology, fermentation, thermal processing and ingredient functionality

Proven experience commercializing innovative bakery productsStrong leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Strong business and commercial acumen

Willingness to work

in office

and travel occasionally

Baking/Pastry Arts Management certification is highly desirable
