Support ecological research at UBC's Gaynor Lab as a part time Research Technician. Help explore the effects of human disturbance on large mammals through data management and analysis.
This role requires a minimum of two years of related experience in ecology or a similar field. Responsibilities include assisting with data quality control, supervising undergraduate students, and managing lab resources. You’ll enhance your skills in data science while contributing to impactful research on animal behavior.
Key Responsibilities: • Oversee lab organizations and digital resources • Conduct thorough literature reviews for ongoing projects • Maintain research databases and process raw data • Order equipment and maintain inventory levels • Prepare and submit necessary administrative reports
Requirements: • High school diploma with relevant field experience • Experience with camera trap data preferred • Understanding of large mammal identification beneficial • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GitHub • Capability to work independently and in teams
