Inline Group Inc. is an Alberta-based civil engineering field services company operating Canada-wide. Our core services span Geotechnical Engineering, Geomatics, and Material Testing, and we serve clients across the Energy, Mining, Infrastructure, and Industrial sectors. We are looking for a Director, Business Development based in Edmonton or Calgary to build and lead a high-performing BD function at Inline Group.

This is a player-coach role that blends team leadership with active, hands-on business development. ~40% Active BD Pursuit Build and run a high-performing BD machine while remaining an active contributor on pursuits. You own the system — pipeline health, team development, win rates, and making sure the right opportunities reach the right BDMs at the right time — but you are also hands-on in the market. Direct management of four vertical Business Development Managers.

Pipeline strategy, tracking, forecasting, and reporting — ensuring leadership has real-time visibility into all active opportunities BDM coaching, development, and performance management CRM discipline, follow-up processes,



and reporting rhythm Active BD pursuit — stepping in directly on opportunities where the team needs support or where strategic value warrants senior involvement Coordination with Operations on capacity planning and pursuit alignment 10+ years of business development experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering services, or related industries ~Proven track record of building and managing BD teams, not just individual selling ~ Strong understanding of construction and major project markets ~ Experience with pipeline management, CRM systems, and BD process discipline ~ Ability to balance team leadership with personal BD contribution (player-coach mindset) ~ Excellent relationship-building skills across all levels of client organizations ~ Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Assets Experience with CRM implementation Experience developing sector and key account plans Competitive compensation package with performance bonus Prospect to build and shape the BD function at a growing company
