Job Title: Sales and Marketing Coordinator (Hybrid - Part-Time with Potential for Full-Time)
Location: North York, Toronto (with travel across the GTA)
Overview
North York Diwali Fest—one of the GTA’s most dynamic and inclusive cultural festivals—is seeking a proactive and personable Sales and Marketing Coordinator to join our growing team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who excels at communication, thrives in stakeholder engagement, and is passionate about building community through large-scale public events.
The primary focus of this role is connecting and communicating with potential stakeholders—including community partners, businesses, and collaborators—to share information about the festival, present opportunities for involvement, and support their onboarding process. You'll also play a key role in outreach coordination, documentation, and promotional logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Outreach & Communication (Primary Focus)
- Conduct phone calls and follow-up outreach to potential stakeholders to introduce the festival and discuss partnership opportunities
- Clearly communicate festival goals, event details, and collaboration benefits with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Maintain detailed records of all stakeholder interactions, including call logs, responses, agreements, and next steps
- Assist in scheduling meetings or site visits with key stakeholders when needed
- Sales & Promotional Support
- Help present and distribute promotional materials to stakeholders (e.g., partnership packages, flyers, brochures)
- Contribute to building and updating stakeholder databases
- Assist in preparing talking points and documentation for outreach and engagement meetings
- Community Visibility & Activation
- Represent the festival at local events, and stakeholder visits across the GTA (as needed)
- Support outreach teams in distributing promotional materials to targeted locations
- Attend weekend or evening community engagements when required
- Logistics & Team Support
- Collaborate with the core team in preparation for key milestones and deadlines
- Support onsite coordination during lead-up events or activations as the festival approaches
- Provide feedback from stakeholder interactions to help shape festival improvements and strategy
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident and comfortable making phone calls and initiating conversations
- Highly organized with strong record-keeping and time management abilities
- Previous experience in sales, outreach, or event coordination is an asset
- Familiarity with tools like Google Sheets, Google Drive, and WhatsApp Business is preferred
- Ability to travel locally within the GTA for stakeholder visits and community outreach
- Flexibility to occasionally work weekends or evenings for event-related activities
- A passion for culture, celebration, and community engagement
