About FLOGEN

FLOGEN Stars Outreach is a non-profit organization advancing sustainable development through science, technology, and engineering. Each year, FLOGEN organizes the Sustainable Industrial Processing Summit (SIPS), an international conference bringing together scientists, engineers, industry professionals, policymakers, educators, and students.

SIPS 2026 will take place November 30 – December 3, 2026, at the Rio Othon Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Position

FLOGEN Stars Outreach is seeking a Marketing & Conference Outreach Intern to help promote and organize SIPS 2026.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in marketing, sales, business development, sustainability, green innovation, communications, and event management.

You will help promote an international sustainability conference, connect with organizations and potential participants, conduct market research, develop outreach campaigns, and support conference coordination.

Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Communications

- Assist with digital marketing and promotional campaigns
- Create and distribute professional emails, newsletters, announcements, and promotional content
- Assist with social media and online outreach
- Help promote SIPS to universities, companies, researchers, students, and organizations
- Research new marketing channels and audiences

Sales & Business Development
- Research and identify potential participants, sponsors, partners, and organizations
- Conduct professional outreach and follow-ups
- Build and maintain prospect and contact lists




- Assist with lead generation, prospecting, sponsorship, and partnership outreach
- Help develop professional relationships with prospective partners
- Track contacts, responses, meetings, and follow-ups

Conference & Event Support
- Assist with planning and coordinating SIPS 2026 activities
- Help communicate with speakers, participants, sponsors, universities, and partners
- Assist with registration, schedules, presentations, meetings, and event logistics
- Prepare conference documents, contact lists, and promotional materials
- Provide organizational support before and during the conference

Sustainability & Green Innovation
- Research sustainability, clean technology, green innovation, and STEM organizations
- Identify companies, universities, and organizations working in sustainable development
- Help connect SIPS with Canada's and the international green technology community
- Support outreach promoting sustainable industrial processing and innovation

Research & Administration
- Conduct market and industry research
- Identify recent outreach and partnership opportunities
- Maintain spreadsheets, databases, contact lists, and project information
- Assist with general administrative and organizational tasks

What We're Looking For
- Strong written and spoken English
- Interest in marketing, sales, sustainability, and event management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable contacting new people and organizations
- Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines




- Comfortable conducting online research
- Experience in sales, marketing, business development, customer service, fundraising, communications, or event planning is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, or CRM systems is an asset
- Knowledge of sustainability, ESG, clean technology, or STEM is an asset
- Non-profit experience is an asset

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, proactive, and motivated to build real-world marketing and sales experience while contributing to an international sustainability initiative. You will have the opportunity to help market an international conference, develop professional relationships, conduct sales and outreach activities, and gain practical experience in green innovation, sustainability, and event management.

Pay: From $32,000.00 per year
