Job Summary:
The Material Handler must operate material handling equipment in a safe and professional manner and ensure all containers have the proper amount of material for a smooth compounding operation.
Candidate must be willing to commute to Concord, Ontario, Canada.
Schedule:
This position operates on a rotating 8 hour schedule, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime.
This position rotates every 2 weeks:
- Day Shift: 7am-3pm
- Afternoon Shift: 3pm-11pm
- Night Shift: 11pm-7am
Hours worked in the afternoon shift are eligible for a $0.50/hour premium and hours worked in the night shift are eligible for a $1.00/hour premium.

Job Responsibilities:
- Review and verify labels to ensure appropriate raw material.
- Move materials to appropriate storage/holding area (as applicable).
- Hang bags of raw material onto scale area as required throughout shift.
- Transport master batch material from warehouse to appropriate mixer as required and back to the appropriate location in the warehouse area after use.
- Ensure all scale, mixer, master batch and storage areas are maintained and organized at all times.
- Perform Inventory counts as required.
- Ensure inventory-related information is communicated to appropriate personnel (as required).
- Ensure trucks/trailers are properly docked and chocked before entering.
- Ensure structures and equipments are capable of supporting the intended load.
- Ensure lift truck is inspected before each use and record results on Lift Truck Pre-use Inspection Form.
- Report issues to maintenance immediately for repair.
- Identify recyclable materials by type and/or colour.
- Ensure all containers/bags are properly labeled.
- Ensure scrap product is moved to designated area as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
- Comply with established safety rules.
- Comply with company policy and procedures.
- Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and managers.
- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned to satisfaction of the Production Manager.
- Other duties as required.
Job Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs / 23 kgs.
- Health, safety, and environmental knowledge.
- Possess valid Lift Truck Operator’s certificate.
Physical/Working Conditions: This position requires the employee to work under schedule-bound conditions in a manufacturing environment.
