With a portfolio that includes a full line of poultry, beef and pork products, we service a long list of customers in both retail and food service from our Waterloo, ON and Langley, BC facilities.

GENERAL:

Reporting to Lead Hand and Production Supervisor of Beef/Pork, Material Handlers are responsible for the efficient movement of plant products as directed by product SOP’s and process requirements. The Material Handler will spend the majority of their shift in that role however they will also be required to work on the production line when required. The Material Handler will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure proper movement of raw material and product as needed for planned production in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maximize efficiencies where possible, minimize down time and report promptly.
- Perform part of Utility duty on the line as needed
- General cleanup and product movement with pallet truck.
- Perform all tasks to ensure compliance with specifications of the customer product.




- Ensure acceptable housekeeping of working area, free of slip and trip hazards at all times.
- Other duties as directed by Production Lead Hands and Supervisors.
- Wrap the finished skids and issue, label and move them to the cooler.
- Other duties as directed by Skilled Lead Hands and Supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- High school diploma or Grade 12 equivalent is preferred.




- 1+ year of experience in manufacturing or food/meat production is preferred
- Must be able to handle heavy lifting of up to boxes and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to maintain a hand truck license.
- Proven ability to understand and follow safety and work instructions in English.
- Good communication skills and able to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with little supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Work in a fast-paced, refrigerated setting, involving proximity to machinery and food ingredients.
- Work in cold, wet and slippery plant conditions for extended periods of time.
- Flexible work schedule including mornings, afternoons and weekends.
- Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Job Type: Full-time Pay Rate: $20.35 -$21.35 per hour, plus attendance bonus and shift premium

Schedule:

- 8-hour shift
- Flexible for morning, afternoon shift
- Weekends as needed
