bioLytical is currently looking for an experienced Material Handler / Inventory Clerk to join our team in Richmond. The successful candidate will have experience in inventory control, material handling, warehouse operations, and ERP-based inventory transactions. You are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining accurate inventory records while supporting efficient material flow throughout the organization.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Material Handler / Inventory Clerk supports the Supply Chain department in all aspects of inventory and warehouse operations. Primary responsibilities include receiving and storing materials, performing inventory transactions, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production through timely material movements, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
- Maintain accurate physical and ERP inventory at all time
- Issue and stage required components of job orders in a timely manner and coordinate with production leads or supervisor to ensure smooth production flow
- Put away raw material, sub-assemblies, and finished goods to their proper location in accordance with its material status and required storage conditions and keeping FIFO procedures in mind
- Process and issue material requests from different departments as well as replenish inventory materials to various KANBAN locations
- Ensure proper labeling on all materials in the warehouse and production floor
- Ensure job aides are current and equipment is in good working condition
- Report any serious damage and/or deterioration of inventory and equipment
- Perform periodic cycle count and investigate discrepancies
- Perform year end physical inventory count
- Process and extract various reports as assigned from inventory management system
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- High school diploma with 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, material handling, or related logistics operations.
- Physical activity involved in this job includes walking, lifting and bending. Candidate should be able to lift and move up to 50lbs as necessary.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Organized and self-motivated; able to work both independently and as a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Creative and resourceful
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people
- Candidates with inventory control and material handling experience will be given priority
- Experience and/or license for Class 3 Pallet Truck operation is an asset
- Valid driver's license is an asset
- Experience using an ERP system is a plus
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing and supply chain concepts (Kanban, etc.) is highly desirable

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:
$43,000-$48,000
