Description

GENERAL:
Reporting to Meat Mixer Lead Hand and Production Supervisor of Poultry Department, Meat Mixers are responsible for contributing to the efficient and orderly flow of raw materials for further processing by ensuring meat mixing duties are performed following formulations and achieving yields, in a safe and efficient workplace. The Meat Mixer will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following list of duties and responsibilities of the Meat Mixer is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the job described. Rather they are intended only to describe the general nature of the job. Other reasonable duties may be assigned as required.
- Collect meat needed for formulations from the holding cooler.
- by method of re-stacking and spacer to provide air flow.
- Accurately ingredients and dump specified raw materials.
- Based on the formulation sheets, prepared marinade and mix with meat.
- Ensure that mixed meat is placed into tanks and input to , properly covered with tank sheets and labelled.
- Assemble machines as required (e.g., grinders and tumblers)
- Operate and monitor mixing machinery (including large-scale commercial mixers, grinders, or blenders) to ensure they run correctly.
This often involves using control panels or computer terminals to set parameters.
- Operate in an ERP system (DEACOM): Using a handheld scanner to issue materials to a job, input production (finished goods) and de-issue materials from the job.
- Maintain accurate production records, recording data such as ingredient usage, batch numbers, weights, and quantities mixed.
- Always ensure acceptable housekeeping of working area, free of slip and trip hazards at all time.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- 1+ year of experience in manufacturing or food/meat production is preferred.
- High school diploma or Grade 12 equivalent is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to handle heavy lifting of up to 30kg boxes and stand for extended periods.
- Must possess and maintain valid hand truck and forklift certifications.
- Attention to detail, solid problem-solving skills for troubleshooting, ability to work accurately and reliably.
- Proven ability to understand and follow safety and work instructions in English.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with little supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work in a fast-paced, refrigerated setting, involving proximity to machinery and food ingredients.
- Work in cold, wet and slippery plant conditions for extended periods of time.
- Flexible work schedule including mornings, afternoons and weekends.
- Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Job Type: Full time Pay Rate: $22.50-$23.50 per hour, plus attendance bonus and shift premium

Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Flexible for morning, afternoon shift
