Job Summary To design and develop automation equipment / fixtures and related components within specified parameters in an effective and functional manner. To assist in the continued advancement and automation of our custom designed machinery.

Job Responsibilities

- Work independently and within work groups to design, develop, and coordinate the manufacturing of automated equipment/fixtures and finishing machinery
- Develop conceptual designs, final design & detailed assembly drawings on "NX"
- Complete bill of materials on "NX, Excel & Visual Manufacturing"
- Manage complete projects from design, manufacture and onsite install at customers locations
- Travel for project meetings to various customer and supplier locations
- Back-up, maintain files and document all activities for the project on assigned job folders. Prepare equipment manuals for customers
- Co-ordinate build of equipment with shop floor or external sub-contractor, issue assembly drawings to supervisor and/or shop floor personnel ensuring completeness
- Periodically meet with suppliers to review purchasing and automation requirements
- Complete projects within assigned time frame and within the budgeted costs
- Periodically travel to local plants to observe and monitor existing machines in operations
- Make sure the project meets the customer advised objective




- Assist in the start-up, testing and troubleshooting of new, existing automated equipment/fixtures and related equipment
- Make sure the equipment designed/manufactured meets the local safety standard as applicable
- Strive for Continuous Improvement and be part of the CI team
- Perform FMEA and technical calculations for the job

Job Qualifications

- College diploma or degree (Engineering discipline preferred) and/or CET with design background
- Three to five years experience in Robot and Automation experience preferred
- Minimum two years experience in any one of the following software in 3D environment: NX, IDEAS, Pro Engineer, Solid Works, Catia or Unigraphics
- Ability to interpret blueprints and develop mechanical and pneumatic drawings schematics
- Proficiency in "NX" software preferable
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Automated equipment, blow/injection moulding machines
- Experience in designing custom machines to finish and assemble plastic parts is preferable
