Job Summary The Rideau Clinic by Southern Alberta Surgical Centre, is currently seeking a full time Medical Office Assistant (MOA), starting immediately.
We’re looking for a team player who thrives in a quick-paced environment and enjoys working directly with people. The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling multiple administrative duties in both the front and back office including receptionist, billing support, scheduling appointment and surgeries, patient communication, and filing. If you have experience in the medical field, you may be perfect for this position.
Please note that this position is located at the old Holy Cross Hospital.
Qualifications
- ≥2 years of MOA experience
- Medical Office Assistant certification is favoured.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Desire to work with diverse patients requiring clinical and surgical management.
- Candidates with surgical services experience is an asset.
- Previous experience with Accuro EMR and EPIC Connect Care is an asset
Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to
- Provide excellent customer service and assist with problem-solving as needed.
- Receive, document,
and communicate patient messages to appropriate clinic staff and physicians.
- Schedule patient appointments, surgical procedures, reminders, and follow-up visits through Connect Care and Accuro EMR.
- Review clinical documentation to support continuity of patient care, including referrals, investigations, and follow-up requirements.
- Process insurance claims and accurately maintain confidential patient information, including medical results and patient histories, within the electronic medical record system (Accuro).
- Assist with invoices, payments, and other basic financial or administrative records.
- Perform basic cleaning, disinfection, and decontamination of equipment and examination rooms as required.

Experience
- MOA: 2 years (preferred)
