Role Description The MEP Manager is a full-time, in office role based in Ottawa, ON. This role oversees Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for building and infrastructure projects, ensuring design intent is met and systems are integrated effectively within project constraints. Daily responsibilities include coordinating MEP activities among internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors; reviewing drawings and specifications; and identifying and resolving clashes or constructability issues.

The MEP Manager will participate in project planning, support procurement of MEP materials and equipment, track progress,



and assist in scheduling to keep work on time and within budget. The role also includes monitoring quality and safety standards, preparing technical documentation and reports, and supporting commissioning and handover of MEP systems.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including MEP Coordination for complex construction projects.
- Practical knowledge of Plumbing systems and MEP Design, with the ability to review, interpret, and optimize engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with Procurement of MEP materials and equipment, including vendor coordination and cost-conscious purchasing.
- Background in construction project management or engineering, preferably in commercial, institutional, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and best practices related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and consultants, and to communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Post-secondary education in mechanical, electrical, or building systems engineering, construction management, or a related field; professional certification or licensing is an asset.
