Become the driving legal force at the First Nations Financial Management Board, providing expert guidance as General Counsel in a versatile hybrid work model.We are seeking a seasoned legal professional with a minimum of 10 years' experience and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD). You will address legal compliance while representing FMB in negotiations and legislative matters. This role promotes effective governance and supports the unique needs of First Nations, ensuring alignment with the First Nations Fiscal Management Act.Key Responsibilities:Deliver legal advice ensuring compliance and strategic directionManage legal documents, agreements, and risk assessmentsLiaise with external counsel and regulatory bodiesFacilitate Board governance and meeting logisticsMonitor legislation affecting First Nations communitiesRequirements:LLB or JD and practicing membership required10+ years of relevant legal experienceStrong understanding of Indigenous governanceLegislative drafting and ATIP knowledge preferredEffective verbal and written communication skillsSupport First Nations' goals by legal guidance and governance at FMB.#J-18808-Ljbffr
