The City of Hamilton is hiring a Planner I to enhance community planning initiatives. You will research best practices, lead community consultations, and provide policy interpretations. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to develop successful community and secondary plans while ensuring compliance with existing regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research urban planning theories and best practice applications
• Lead public engagement processes and community consultations
• Prepare and review secondary plans and other policies
• Coordinate project management tasks with multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct site inspections and assessments for planning purposes
Requirements:
• Honours degree in Urban and Regional Planning
• Minimum of two years of experience in urban planning
• Membership in Canadian Institute of Planners or equivalent
• Robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Expertise in policy analysis and sustainable development
