Job Summary The Mountain Operations Dispatcher is responsible for maintaining effective communication and monitoring radio traffic mountain-wide. This position coordinates daily resort operations including; emergency management, on mountain traffic movement, opening/closing procedures and record keeping. In addition, the Dispatcher will provide administrative support to the Mountain Patrol department.

Essential Job Functions

- Monitor multiple radio channels, phone and operational systems, while maintaining effective communication across all on-hill departments.
- Record and report daily operations including but not limited to; emergency response, operational changes, transport requests, missing persons and maintenance issues.
- Coordinate response and communications during emergency incidents.
- Follow emergency protocols as outlined in the Mountain Safety Emergency procedures.
- Review first aid documentation and assist in overseeing incident investigations.
- Work with all departments to ensure smooth operations and day to day functions.
- Assist Dispatch Supervisor, Patrol Supervisors and Mountain Safety Management team as needed.
- Perform administrative and other related duties as assigned.
- The incumbent will be required to work extended hours including weekends and statutory holidays.





Required Qualifications and Abilities

- Previous dispatch or similar experience is advantageous.
- Comfortable managing emergency communication and working under pressure.
- Detail orientated with excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work unsupervised to complete assigned tasks.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team, while maintaining effective working relationships.
- Post-secondary education, or an appropriate and equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
- Knowledge of radio protocols and etiquette.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and health issues.
- OFA 1 certification
- Familiar with the general operation of the resort.
