Job Title: Front of House Supervisor – Ted’s Pub
Status: Seasonal (Winter)
Reports to: Front of House Manager
Hourly wage: To be determined
Job Summary:
Love the idea of working where the air is fresh, the views are unreal, and your “commute” includes snow-capped peaks? At Mount Washington Alpine Resort, you can spend your days surrounded by adventure — and get paid for it.
As the Front of House Supervisor at Ted’s Pub, you’ll oversee guest service and front-of-house team operations while helping ensure smooth and efficient daily service. You’ll supervise hosts, servers, bussers, and bartenders, support administrative functions, and maintain high standards of customer service.
Strong communication, proactive leadership, and knowledge of the mountain and resort activities are essential in this role. If you’re an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team and creating exceptional guest experiences, this is a great opportunity to be part of the Mount Washington Alpine Resort food and beverage team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supervising and coordinating the front-of-house team, including hosts, servers, bussers, and bartenders
- Maintaining excellent customer service standards by monitoring guest interactions and addressing concerns promptly
- Leading daily pre-shift meetings to communicate service priorities, specials, and operational updates
- Maintaining accurate records of pre-shift meetings and other required documentation
- Managing shift coverage to support efficient operations during peak and off-peak hours
- Completing administrative tasks, including payroll, time tracking, reporting, and inventory oversight
- Training, mentoring, and supporting front-of-house staff to maintain consistent service standards
- Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper setup of dining and bar areas
- Assisting guests with questions regarding menu items, specials, mountain activities, and resort operations
- Using broad knowledge of the mountain and resort activities to support guest inquiries and recommendations
- Collaborating with kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth service flow
- Enforcing health, safety, and responsible alcohol service protocols
- Monitoring performance and providing feedback to staff to support continuous improvement
- Supporting a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace
- Pitching in wherever needed — because teamwork makes the mountain run smoothly
- Upholding high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety, and professionalism
Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a high-volume restaurant, pub, or hospitality environment preferred
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong knowledge of mountain activities, events, and resort operations
- Ability to multitask and make quick, effective decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and teamwork
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Experience maintaining records and conducting pre-shift meetings would be an asset
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional, approachable, and proactive attitude
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods
- Comfortable lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs of supplies, trays, equipment, or other materials
- Able to work in a busy restaurant and pub environment
- Ability to move efficiently and safely during busy service periods
- Availability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
Resort Conditions: Working at a Winter Resort means no two days are the same — and that's part of the adventure! You’ll get to experience a variety of unique locations, from cozy lodges to scenic mountain-top venues only accessible by chairlift. Be prepared to embrace the elements; whether it's bluebird skies, fresh snowfall, or the infamous coastal rain.
Expect to navigate multi-level lodges, steep stairways, and outdoor areas where the terrain can be sloped, snowy, or slippery, so good footwear is essential, indoors and out. Walking through large, icy parking lots is also part of the daily journey. If you love fresh air, stunning views, and a workplace that keeps you on your toes, this is the spot for you!
