About the role:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP), Regional Bariatric Care Centre (RBCC), is responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals referred for medical and surgical obesity management.



A primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate closely with the Endocrinologist, Bariatric Surgeons and interprofessional care team while coordinating and facilitating comprehensive treatment plans and support the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

The NP reports primarily to the Manager, RBCC in collaboration with the Director, Patient Flow & Partnerships, with a matrix reporting relationship to the Director, Nursing & Health Professions. The role of the NP integrates the six core competencies of Advanced Practice Nursing as outlined by the Canadian Nurses Association: direct comprehensive care, health system optimization, education, research, leadership, and consultation and collaboration. The percentage of time dedicated to each of these domains is variable, based on the program needs and will evolve with the program.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

- Unencumbered registration as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (EC) with the College of Nurses of

Ontario.
- Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Membership in NPAO or RNAO preferred.
- Minimum 3‑5 years recent nurse practitioner experience in an acute care and/or home and community care setting

during past 5 year period.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of the Patient and Family Centered Care model.
- Clinical knowledge and expertise in chronic disease management.
- Knowledge of the research process and ability to apply research to clinical practice.
- Previous adult education and program development, implementation and evaluation experience.

- Ability to be flexible and adapt positively to constantly changing situations.

Salary Range: $68.680 to 76.140 The Health Sciences Centre strives to ensure the safety and security of the patients, visitors, employees and assets financial and otherwise. All offers of employment to external candidates shall be conditional upon: a satisfactory
