Become an integral part of NRC as an Intellectual Property Advisor based in Ottawa. This role involves guiding IP strategies and managing patent applications and agreements. Within the Client Agreements and Intellectual Property Branch, you will develop protective measures for NRC’s intellectual property while working closely with research teams.

Applicants should possess a degree in Science or Engineering and have significant experience in IP management, including patent prosecution and licensing agreement negotiations. Solid communication with inventors is key to this role’s success. Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file patent applications effectively
- Advise on IP protection options and strategies
- Manage external relationships with patent agents
- Draft and negotiate collaborative agreements
- Conduct IP awareness initiatives Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant field
- 2-6 years in IP or patent prosecution
- Valid Canadian Patent Agent registration
- Familiarity with U.S. and international IP laws
- Must maintain Secret security clearance Drive innovation and ensure effective intellectual property management at NRC in Ottawa.
