Fire, Security and Parking Services at the University of Toronto Scarborough aims to provide students, staff, faculty and visitors with a protected and accessible campus. We manage and operate 10 parking lots on campus with a variety of parking options, including hourly parking, daily flat rate parking, as well as monthly, term and annual parking permits. We are responsible for managing and maintaining the fire and physical security systems on campus.

Your opportunity:
Under general supervision of the Manager, Security Systems & Services, the incumbent is responsible for: Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate. Applying established standards when issuing parking permits. Checking completeness of applications.
Collecting and filing applications.
Liaising with service provider to resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment. Performing routine data entry. Preparing draft correspondence using templates. Providing detailed explanations on parking and ticketing procedures.
Maintaining information on digital platforms. Submitting service orders. Recording reported safety issues and referring for resolution. Applying established standards to control the distribution of access to designated University spaces.
Updating and maintaining employee access cards. Checking to ensure fire and security equipment is in working order. Identifying and reporting equipment repair and replacement needs. Monitoring security systems.
Applying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies, agency and regulatory requirements. Preparing and recording deposits on a regular basis. Balancing financial transactions against sales on a regular basis.
Generating standard financial reports. Processing cash, debit and/or credit card transactions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
- Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
- Applying established standards when issuing parking permits
- Applying established standards to control the distribution of access to designated University spaces
- Updating and maintaining employee access cards
- Identifying and reporting equipment repair and replacement needs
- Submitting service orders
- Processing cash, debit and/or credit card transactions
Essential Qualifications:
- College Diploma (2 years)
in Business Administration or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum two (2) years related experience providing administrative support, preferably in a University setting.
- Must be able to stay organized, multi-task and meet deadlines and exercise accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to work with the public.
- Must have strong customer service orientation and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under time constraints and work load pressures while maintaining tact and professionalism when dealing with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.).

Assets (Nonessential):
- Previous experience in a parking services role.
- Experience with parking, security and fire systems/applications and FIS is an asset.
