Responsibilities
- Perform oil changes using hand tools and power tools efficiently and accurately, following manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect and check vehicle fluids, belts, hoses, lights, and basic components.
- Repair, replace and install tires, ensuring proper mounting and balancing procedures are completed to industry standards.
- Check and adjust tire pressures and inspect tires for wear or damage.
- Organizing onsite tire storage including pulling and putting away of tires for scheduled appointments and maintaining an accurate record of stored tires/rims.
- Assist with completing basic vehicle maintenance inspections including but not limited to brake inspections and services to determine potential issues and necessary repairs.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and support more experienced technicians with repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area,
ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior automotive, tire or oil change experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools including lifts, tire machines, wheel balancers, and other shop equipment and follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, standing and performing repetitive tasks continuously for an 8 hour work day.
- Knowledge of general health and safety practices in an automotive garage environment.
- Keep the shop, tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Assist other technicians and staff as required.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and clear communication abilities to communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and able to record accurate service record details.
- Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the automotive service industry.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
Working Conditions
- Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
- Fast-paced automotive service environment.
- Standing, bending, lifting, and working around vehicles for extended periods.
- Involves exposure to oil, grease, dirt, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Must follow proper personal protective equipment and workplace safety requirements.
Benefits
- $23.00 - $26.00 / hour depending on skill level.
