We are a rapidly growing, award‑winning franchise seeking experienced Deck Supervisors to lead shifts, supervise on‑deck employees, maintain the pool workplace, and interact with students and parents/guardians.
Job Title
Deck Supervisor
Reports to
General Manager / Assistant General Manager / Pool Operations Manager
Summary
Manages assigned shift, supervises on‑deck staff, maintains pool safety and cleanliness, and supports GSS curriculum delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, discipline, and constructive feedback to instructors and deck teachers to ensure quality delivery of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
- Conduct daily pre‑shift meetings and prepare the deck for the shift.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of instructors and deck teachers.
- Interact with parents/guardians to discuss student progress.
- Act as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Complete daily Deck Supervisor logs and monitor student attendance.
- Coordinate tasks required to ensure the cleanliness of the pool facility.
- Arrange for replacements for absent employees.
- Maintain appropriate levels of chemicals for the pool environment.
- Act as substitute swim instructor when necessary.
- Suggest areas for improvement and implement corrective action through in‑services or other training.
- Participate in training/in‑services as required.
- Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employer.
Requirements
- Ability to work with children.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Must pass background examinations (included with training).
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Two or more years as a swim instructor required.
- Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or teacher preferred.
- College degree preferred.
Certificates and Licenses
- Lifeguard certification required.
- CPR/AED certification required.
- First Aid certification required.
Work Environment
The employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity; noise level is usually moderate.
