COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

LiftWerx is a specialized wind energy contractor which performs large corrective repairs, mainly using crane-less technology. LiftWerx offers both specialized equipment and experienced personnel to perform corrective repairs on a wide variety of wind turbines. The majority of lifting services are performed using up-tower crane technology, which avoids the high cost and disruption of utilizing large conventional cranes on the ground.

JOB TITLE:

Operational Excellence Leader – Continuous Improvement (full-time)

LOCATION:

This is an on-site position, based out of our Cambridge, ON office. This role will spend up to 50% of its time in the field observing work, coaching crews, and implementing operational improvements.

:

LiftWerx is seeking a results-driven Operational Excellence Leader with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification to drive operational excellence and improve execution of complex field operations. This role exists to reduce major component replacement duration, improve crew productivity, eliminate operational waste, and ensure standard work is consistently executed across North America. This individual will lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that enhance field team productivity, reduce turnaround time for major component exchanges, and eliminate operational waste while ensuring safety, efficiency, and consistent quality across all field operations.

The mission of this role is to convert best practices into standard practices by improving execution in the field every day.

The role blends strategic process improvement with hands-on project execution. This role requires someone who has a robust desire to be directly involved in the operation, as the successful candidate will spend significant time working alongside supervisors and technicians to identify barriers, implement improvements, and ensure standard work is consistently executed. We are looking for a leader who enjoys being in the field, working alongside crews, challenging conventional thinking respectfully, and delivering measurable operational improvements through action.

Developing Lean capability within the organization is important but success in this role will ultimately be measured by sustained improvements in safety, productivity, quality, and turnaround time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:





- Partner with field leadership to drive adoption of standard work and other Lean transformation projects through direct observation, coaching and accountability. Work alongside supervisors and crews during major component exchanges to improve execution in realtime .
- In the field, lead the daily observation and coaching of supervisors and crew during major component exchanges.
- Challenge existing work practices and remove barriers preventing consistent execution of standard work and other lean initiatives.
- Identify and replicate best-performing crews and work practices across the organization, ensuring successful improvements become the new standard
- Conduct time studies, root cause analyses, and value stream mapping to identify and eliminate waste in operational processes.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to identify process gaps and implement sustainable solutions.
- Conduct root cause analyses of reccurring failures or inefficiencies, and develop corrective action plans to address them.
- Audit external fabricators and key suppliers to ensure compliance with LiftWerx quality, delivery, and continuous improvement standards.
- Support the development and maintenance of operational KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards for field productivity and turnaround performance.
- Manage projects through the full lifecycle — from charter and stakeholder alignment to execution, control, and closure — applying PMP-standard methodology.
- Partner with the Quality and Engineering teams to drive root cause elimination and corrective/preventive actions on recurring issues.
- Support various teams, in developing and deploying standard work, 5S programs, and visual management systems across operations.
- Lead Kaizen and rapid improvement events and lead cross-functional workshops that foster collaboration and data-driven problem solving, ensuring improvements are implemented, sustained and reflected in measurable productivity gains.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (ASQ or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management,



or a related discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.

Experience

- 8+ years of experience leading operational improvement within field service, heavy industrial maintenance and field service environments, shutdown / outage execution, mining, power generation, heavy equipment service or industrial construction is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing standard work and process improvement initiatives, ideally in the wind turbine, renewable energy , or heavy equipment repair sectors.

Knowledge/Skills:

- Demonstrated ability to build credibility with experienced frontline supervisors, technicians and tradespeople.
- Comfortable influencing without direct authority
- High level of personal accountability and persistence.
- Bias toward execution and measurable results
- Able to make decisions in dynamic field environments with incomplete information
- Strong conflict resolution and coaching skills
- Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and other data visualization tools.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels.

The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a condition of employment for this role. Due to the nature of the work and in accordance with workplace safety standards, all team members must wear appropriate PPE while performing applicable job duties. Salary Range: $100,000 – $156,000 CAD
