About Chilly Dogs

Chilly Dogs designs and sells dog coats built for real Canadian weather, along with a growing selection of other products. Helping people care for their dogs is at the heart of the business — our customers come back season after season because our dog coats fit and the quality holds up. We’re a small team, which means the every person has an important role. You’d work directly with the owner/operator and our customer service staff, and you’d see the whole path an order takes: shelf to box to customer. We are proud to manufacture in Canada and work with other independent businesses.

One thing worth knowing up front: our year has two speeds. October through February is a genuine sprint — orders stack up and the days are full. The rest of the year has some breathing room. We’re looking for someone who likes that rhythm rather than someone who’d rather have every week look the same. Off-season is for completing projects to improve the business (and reduced time on shipping orders). If you like to have summers off, that is a possibility in this role.

Job duties

- Process and pack consumer and wholesale orders accurately and on schedule
- Receive, check in, tag and stock shelves with new production and incoming shipments
- Monitor inventory levels and help keep our customer service team in the loop on what’s available, what’s low, and what’s back in stock
- Keep our Shopify online storefront current —stock status and inventory levels
- Manage shipping inquiries, courier accounts,



and shipping applications
- Track and resolve delivery issues, claims, and returns
- Keep the warehouse organized, clean, safe, and always ready
- Join the team at consumer trade shows in Ottawa and Toronto (2-3 times /year on weekends)
- Jump in where needed to get any task done

Do you have?
- A positive attitude with an interest in learning and an ability to work independently
- A desire to collaborate with the team members to service our customers and help the company improve its processes
- Some experience in a warehouse, fulfillment, retail, or e-commerce setting (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with inventory counts and order accuracy
- Comfort being on your feet and lifting boxes through the day (most 1-5lbs, up to 40-50lbs)
- The ability to prioritize your day without someone assigning each task
- Fluency in English written and spoken. French is an asset
- Prior experience with Shopify is an asset

Hours and schedule

Monday to Friday, seven to eight hours per day, on-site at our east-end Ottawa location on Lancaster Road. There’s some flexibility in how the week is arranged, including for candidates who’d prefer to work a Saturday or Sunday as part of their schedule.
